Privacy Policy
1. Overview
MemLife (memlife.me) is a permanent inscription service. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect as little as technically possible, and none of it is tied to your real-world identity.
2. What we collect
- Inscription content — the text, voice recordings, and video clips you deliberately submit;
- Coordinates — randomly generated identifiers that act as the key to your inscriptions. They are not linked to your phone number, name, or any real identity;
- Order information — payment status and order references when you use paid features (payment itself is processed by third-party providers; we never see your card details);
- Technical logs — basic server logs required to run the service and prevent abuse;
- Device identifier — inside the Android app only, the system-assigned device ID (ANDROID_ID), used solely to prevent repeat abuse of the free inscription quota. See Section 7.
No account is required. We do not collect contacts, photos (beyond what you submit), location, or any sensitive permissions.
3. What happens to your data
Inscriptions are permanent by design: once inscribed, content is replicated across distributed storage and anchored on Arweave. This is the core promise of the service — which also means inscriptions cannot be deleted afterwards, including at your request. Think carefully before you inscribe.
4. Content moderation
To comply with applicable law, submitted content passes automated screening to detect and block illegal material.
5. Payments
Payments are handled by third-party processors (e.g. crypto payment providers). We receive only the order outcome, never your payment credentials.
6. Third-party storage & blockchains
Inscription content may be replicated to distributed storage providers and the Arweave blockchain, which are outside our control and may be read by anyone with technical knowledge. Do not inscribe secrets you need to stay secret.
7. Local storage & device identifier
To help you recover your coordinates, essential information is stored locally on your device. Clearing browser or app data may permanently lose access to your inscriptions — please copy your coordinate somewhere safe.
The Android app reads the system-assigned device ID (ANDROID_ID). It changes only on factory reset; clearing app data or reinstalling does not change it. We use it exclusively to prevent repeat abuse of the free inscription quota. It is not linked to your real identity and is not used for advertising or tracking.
8. Minors
MemLife is not directed at children under 14. If a minor has used the service without guardian consent, contact us.
9. Your rights
Under GDPR/CCPA you may request access to, or lawfully process, personal data tied to you (coordinates, orders). Note that inscribed content itself is immutable by design — it cannot be edited or deleted by anyone, including us. Contact us below.
